ACT USA
Against Child Trafficking USA endeavors to help victims of child trafficking that is carried out under the ruse of overseas adoption. We support the work of ACT who trace the whereabouts of trafficked children at the request of their parents and/or relatives or reunite adopted people with their parents or extended family members.
Oftentimes, the parents of trafficked children are poverty-stricken and/or live in remote areas of the countryside, making it almost impossible for them to travel to their country’s urban centers to file criminal complaints, let alone afford an attorney.
ACT USA recently gained 501(c)3 status and aims to support the investigational and legal work conducted by Against Child Trafficking in the following areas:
• Field research and case investigations;
• Developing and disseminating educational materials based on the correct interpretation and proper implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC);
• Organization and participation in Child Rights-based forums and related platforms; and,
• Providing professional and peer support for victims of child trafficking.
